Last Saturday 31 athletes from the Bentonville Cross Country teams traveled to Lake Hamilton to compete. The course is the same used for the State meet held on November 12th so it was a great chance to test out the course. The weather was perfect for some very strong overall performances from the Tigers.
The Bentonville High School varsity guys runners won the large school division team race with senior Jonathan Prince winning the race with his 5K course best performance of 16:01. He won by just over 1 second. The team finished with 24 points.
The Bentonville varsity girl runners finished in 1st place in the large school division. Tori Willis winning the race which had 208 runners finish. Her time was an excellent 18:58. The team finished with 29 points.
The Junior varsity boys division saw two tigers compete. Colton Simmons won the race in 17:40 with Wells Arkins coming in third with a 17:43 finish.
The Junior varsity girls division also saw two Tigers compete with Kaitlyn Christensen winning in 20:48 for the 5K distance.
The Junior high boys team competed well against Conway but just failed to take the win by 3 team points. The fastest runner of the day and race winner for the first time this season was Daniel Graham who won the race out of the 351 finishes with a time of 11:17 for the 2.1 mile distance. This was a new course record.
The Junior high girls team won the large schools division with Ashley Owen taking the 3rd place medal out of the 291 runners. He time was 13:13 for 2.1 miles.

The Tiger compete next on November 1st at the Conference Championships held at Roger High School.
