For the 11th year in a row, the Bentonville Tigers come out on top in the regular season showdown with rival Fayetteville.

The Tigers (3-1, 1-0 7A-West) were solid all night on defense, particularly in slowing down Fayetteville’s high-power passing attack. Powell ended the night 18 of 33 for 186 yards and 3 TDs, but was sacked four times and had trouble finding open receivers against Bentonville’s talented secondary.

Jacob Clark rushed for 100 yards and 1 TD and Hayden Moehring kicked a crucial 46 yard FG with 3:14 left to extend Bentonville’s lead to 24-14.

Fayetteville got a Powell to Terrance Rock 21-yard passing TD with 1:28 left, but an onsides kick that followed was recovered by Bentonville and the Tigers were able to run out the clock.
