Bentonville Varsity XC travelled to north to Joplin, MO for the MSSU Southern Stampede.
The girls, led by sophomore Tori Willis, won the meet for the first time in school history. 36 teams competed in the meet. The times and places are listed here: Tori Willis (7th, 18:55), Sophie Quandt (14th, 19:19), Katie Kotoucek (26th, 19:43), Alexis Doyle (30th, 19:48), Krista Herlin (42nd, 20:00) and Alex Mastorides (43rd, 20:01)
The boys, led by a 7th place effort by Johnathan Prince (15:42), finished in 6th place in the 46-team field. Other team members and placings were Hayden Townsend (25th, 16:25), Coleman Wilson (32nd, 16:33), Kimball Owen (58th, 16:51), Nick Schmitt (94th, 17:23), and Colton Simmons (134th, 17:48).
Next week the teams will race in Stillwater, OK for the OSU Cowboy Jamboree.
