Tigers win Back to Back 7A State Titles

Bentonville Tigers Softball defeated North Little Rock 11-3 in a back-and-forth affair on Friday. The game was tied at three with Bentonville Tigers Softball batting in the bottom of the third when Morgan Nelson singled off of Katelynn McMahan, driving in two runs. Morgan Nelson led Bentonville Tigers Softball to victory by driving in five runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. Nelson drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the third, and a single in the fourth. North Little Rock captured the lead in the first inning. Marissa Mitchell grounded out, scoring one run. In the top of the second inning, North Little Rock tied things up at three. Reagan Sperling drove in one when she singled in the second inning. Bentonville Tigers Softball took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Cailey Cochran hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run and there was an error, scoring two runs. Madison Prough earned the win for Bentonville Tigers Softball . She went seven innings, surrendering three runs, five hits, and striking out one. Katelynn McMahan took the loss for North Little Rock. She tossed three innings, surrendering eight runs, eight hits, and striking out three. Bentonville Tigers Softball collected 11 hits. Nelson, Haley Cornell, Keelah Griffith, Tymber Riley, and Payton Wildeman each collected multiple hits for Bentonville Tigers Softball . Bentonville Tigers Softball was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Riley made the most plays with six.
