The field for the 2015 MaxPreps Holiday Classic was finalized this week with the addition of Bentonville (Ark.), a Class 7A finalist last season in the Natural State.

Bentonville features a top-five talent in the 2016 class nationally in Malik Monk, an electric guard who averaged nearly 27 points per game as a junior.

The Tigers will join defending state champions Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), Jonesboro (Ga.) and Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Texas) along with California powers Chino Hills and Moreau Catholic (Hayward) in the 16-team field.

The MaxPreps Holiday Classic is scheduled for Dec. 26-30 in Palm Springs, Calif. Rancho Mirage High School will serve as the primary host, but games will be played in eight venues around the Coachella Valley.

"The MaxPreps Holiday Classic has become the talk of the town," tournament co-director Wayne Merino said of the event. "It's a hot ticket, without a doubt among the most desirable high school basketball tournaments for teams and coaches to attend in the country."

Past standouts in the event include Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio Spurs, 2014-15 NBA Defensive Player of the Year), Stanley Johnson (Detroit Pistons rookie) and twin guards Aaron and Andrew Harrison (Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies, respectively).
