Thursday night at Wildcats Stadium it will be a battle of the unbeaten, between Bentonville Gold Tigers and the Central Junior High School Warriors. Both teams have performed well during the course of the schedule and both are more than deserving to be here. Central and Bentonville Gold have each taken impressive routes in arriving to this point.

The Bentonville Gold Tigers have displayed an excellent, high powered offense over the past eight weeks. Kobe Anderson and Slade Pearson have each been impressive in the victories. Anderson adds a good, slashing runner that can cause problems for the opposing defense in the open field. Pearson provides the Gold offense with a speedy receiver, and someone who will make the tough reception. Pearson and Anderson are both elusive and tough to bring down and each keep the Gold offense on track.
The Central Warriors trip to the championship was filled with excellent defensive play. Coach Fred Hartsfield brings the Warriors into Thursday’s game with plenty of emotion and determination, even for a championship game. Thursday night will be Coach Hartsfield’s final game and closing out the season with an undefeated record is the goal for the team this season. Central just has to play one more game and an undefeated season will be accomplished.

The defense will be key for the Warriors. At the start of the season, the Central defense did not surrender a single point. Caleb Daniels will be counted on to perform well at both the quarterback and safety position during the course of the game. Brock Pounders will be looked to deliver some from both the offensive and the defensive side of the ball. Central’s defense is wanting to get Bentonville Gold off the field.

For both head coaches this will be the last time they will coach at these schools. Coach Bryan Pratt will move on to Bentonville West to take over the head coaching duties. Coach Hartsfield will walk the sidelines for the final time as a head coach. Both teams are undefeated, but tomorrow night someone will have to step and take control of the game. Good luck to both teams and enjoy the moment.
